Cenk Uygur celebrates getting Joe out of the race and is now sabotaging Kamala
Dude is already knee-capping Kamala's Campaign with bothersiderism
As Kamala continues to gain ground, attracts young voters with her infectiously warm persona, and even gathers some steam in the polls, Cenk Uygur does what he does best: Sabotage Democratic interests.
In at least two of his latest videos, Cenk is already trying to kneecap and undermine VP Kamala Harris’s presidential run.
I unsubbed and no longer follow TYT—here’s why, a breakdown:
He took credit for Joe Biden stepping down
Cenk took a victory lap for “getting Joe Biden out of the race,” which can be found at the 7:25-minute mark of the video below. David Shuster, Uygur’s cohost in the video, agreed, saying at the 9:25-minute mark that Joe needed to be removed.
That part of the segment turned my stomach.
While it now appears Joe's stepping aside was a good decision, no one should take joy in ousting a long-term civil servant and patriotic American like Joe from office for the crime of growing old.
Let’s see if Cenk likes that treatment when his hair turns entirely gray. Regard this historical turn of events with the solemnity it deserves, you prick!
Spitting on solidarity
Cenk and David weren’t done trashing Joe, claiming he was unhappy about stepping aside (what was he supposed to—dance a jig? They expected a man with a fighting spirit to relent? I am sure it was not a fun moment to be told, “Hey, old bastard—get out, you are no longer needed!)
But he decided to put the country first despite his feelings and is now fully supportive of Harris’s run—as is the DNC, and nearly all Dems and allies I talked to.
Ain’t nobody got time for that!
Cenk and his co-host on the video, David Shuster, also bitched that there should have been an open convention, and to that, I say—with a little over 100 days to the election?
Are you HIGH?
If we had six months to go, sure, but hell, many first-world countries have smaller windows for their electoral processes. Stephen Colbert aptly points this fact out at the 1:05 mark in the video below after mentioning the Dem’s August 7th Virtual nomination.
In the UK, for instance, there is a short five-week campaign cycle, and France’s is less than two weeks. Ours is unwieldy and clunky compared to other thriving democracies, thanks in part, to Republicans gumming up the works.
Democrats gave Cenk what he wanted—President Joe Biden’s removal. A swift decision was made for practicality’s sake, and it was a great one.
Everyone knows the stakes are high, and time is limited, so Democratic Folks did what they rarely do—united unanimously!
Or, as David Shuster said, we “Fell into lockstep.”
Asshole.
…and they say women are never satisfied.
The work of VP has historically been underrated.
At the 12:50 mark in the Kamala Harris Secures Democratic Nomination video, Cenk states Harris has only been a senator for two years and claims she did nothing as Veep for four years.
First, two years in government is longer than Trump’s before office!
She has done nothing for four years? What did he think she was doing at the Whitehouse—painting her nails?
Once elected, VPs fade into the background and are upstaged by the First Lady. That doesn't mean they aren’t doing things behind the scenes.
The only time they manage to stand out is when they are unsuitable as a running mate pick, like, let’s say, Sarah Palin, or I dunno, become the target of political hate and potential assassination, like Mike Pence.
I challenge anyone, outside of historians or historical enthusiasts, to come up with a top ten list of Vice Presidents off the top of their heads, without googling, that made a significant public splash while in office.
What pray tell did Mike Pence do while in office, Cenk Uygur?
Yeah—he won’t be able to tell you.
So, his claim that Kamala hasn’t done anything in four years is ignorant, disingenuous at best, and a downright political smear at worst.
Suck it, Cenk!
Kamala Harris has been gaining in the polls
Since announcing her bid to run for office, new polls indicate that Vice President Kamala Harris has gained a nice lead over Trump of at least 2 to 4 points. That’s pretty impressive.
Bill Palmer reports this significant bit of news in his article Kamala Harris sees another polling spike:
Yesterday the new Reuters poll showed Kamala Harris two to four points ahead of Donald Trump nationally, depending on third party scenarios. Now there’s more good polling news for Harris, this time from CNN of all places.
CNN re-contacted the people they’ve polled to see how they feel about the switch from Biden to Harris. It turns out Harris has gotten an 11 point bump over Biden with young voters, a 16 point bump over Biden with Black voters, and a 5 point bump over Biden with women voters. — Palmer Report
Also, in another Palmer article entitled: Kamala Harris takes lead over Donald Trump in first major new poll:
To that end, the new Reuters/IPSOS poll, conducted entirely since President Biden stepped aside, has great new numbers for Kamala Harris. It has Harris two points ahead of Trump in a two way race, and it has Harris four points ahead of Trump in a three way race including RFK Jr. — Palmer Report
You wouldn’t know any of that by watching TYT, who say Kamala is behind Trump by at least 4-9 points in some polls.
Even if these negative point polls exist (and they do), most of these are likely polls taken before Harris announced her decision to run, so they would not indicate voter interest in her presidential bid.
Harping on negative polls while not providing proper perspective or context with newer, more positive polls feels too much like disinformation.
—It almost seems to be by design.
The agents of Bothersiderism on the Left harm the cause
Like Bill Maher, Ana Kasparian, and Cenk Unger love their bothsiderism nonsense.
They will often espouse such views at the expense of many marginalized groups, for instance, giving DEI the side-eye at the 9:10 mark in the above Polls vid, when such programs have helped qualified and highly skilled Black people catch a break.
Let’s not get it twisted—DEI is a good thing that has opened doors to opportunities for skilled people of color who would never have had access to them in the past. Besides, America was built on nepotism and Good Ole Boy networking, a paradigm that had little to nothing to do with skill or merit for centuries, so that they can bite me.
People like Uygur create third-party candidates who split votes and amp up hostilities that cause Democrats to lose. We cannot afford that—not now, not with so much at stake.
I unsubscribed from the TYT channel because of the damage this can do to enthusiasm and optimism. Please spread the word, correct polling disinformation, and tell others to do the same—we don’t need that mess crippling Kamala Harris’s chances of winning.
Cenk has a long and proud history of being a fuck stain. He also has a fairly low opinion of women in general. Like a lot of men, he gets a lot more progressive cred than he's due by all rights.
I never could stand watching The Yakking Twats, and Cenk can join the rest of the shitheads in Gofuckyourselfistan.
