Zero Gravity reached out to read my Pilot!
I am so excited and I just can't hide it.
So, this happened:
I sent out a query letter to one of Hollywood's hottest emerging management companies right now at the behest of an industry bud (Ozarks is one of their Netflix gems, but they have many other films and shows.) Maybe it is a good sign that Ozarks was shot in my neck of the woods!
I sent out the query yesterday and honestly wasn’t expecting a response for a couple of weeks, which is industry standard. When I saw the header from the management agency today, I was like, oh crap—they rejected it—because: too fast!
Then I read the email, and they were all like, “Yeah, go ahead, send your stuff!”
To get an idea of how big a deal this is, read this interview or watch the video with Zero Gravity manager Jermaine Johnson, who gives pointers to writers on how to approach the company to get a positive response from a query letter.
After I picked myself up off the floor, I was like, “Okay, cool.”
And sent some stuff…
I'm unsure what happens next, but as the pilot season is coming, I’ll be a bit busy tightening scripts.
I also find writing about Trump’s ugliness every day to be very damaging to my psyche and my mojo—especially since no one is stopping his rampage. At this juncture, all my angst and anger feel pointless and self-defeating.
Like pouring screams and rage impotently into a black hole.
Gonna pull a Hemingway and disappear for a while with a glass of non-alcoholic Rose’. Okay, not precisely like Hemingway, but you get the idea!
Love guys,

Oh wow... big huge news! Good luck on this! (I get it about trump and damaging to your psyche-ugh) 😘. Keep us posted!!
So delighted and (without having anything whatsoever to do with this but feeling it) SO proud of you!!!
