The Right using the "assassination attempt" to win the Oval Office
Do not let them silence you!
Even if MAGA didn’t stage this shit, Elon Musk claiming Trump “won” because some Republican nimrod “reportedly” hard finger quotes shot him in the earlobe is awfully opportunistic.
If Trump wins, he should win on his policies, not because some crazy person with a death wish shot at his ass. No one should earn anything in life based on victimhood.
Victims deserve compassion and, in certain situations, assistance—not rewards.
Yet, like clockwork, already, as the pundit and political Left has a want to do, we are starting to sing", “Why can’t we all just get along?” as fascism looms. This is all happening, of course, as the Right makes it appear inappropriate to point out the Trump/Epstein or Project 2025 stuff—cuz, now is not the time.
Convenient.
We need to be better than them, some on our side say?
How is being honest about the danger of losing our current Republic somehow as bad as, I dunno, backing an adjudicated rapist, potential child rapist, proud slur-spouting racist, and felon for President? Someone wrote the other day that, yes, Democrats have always had to play nice guy to the GOP bad guy, and that is just the way it is for now.
Not today, Satan.
The reason why Republicans keep getting to write the narrative is because we hand those evil motherfuckers the pen. And yes, I said motherfuckers because this is motherfuckeringly pissing me slap off.
Somehow, “Oh Fiddlesticks,” doesn't underscore how I feel right now, so don’t tone police my ass!
Might I add that we hand them the pen—and oh so politely, too, cuz we are, after all the “good guys”: “Here is your pen, kind suh; oh, you want me to autograph it? Don’t mind if I do… want a side of cognac with that?”
We have been well-groomed.
What do we think are Mr. Good Guy's actual attributes? Mr. Rogers was a good guy, but he was also a political badass behind the scenes who made real change. You don’t have to be a wishy-washy, obsequious pushover to be the “good guy.”
The pen is mightier than the rapier my friends, and I ain’t handing them shit.
Stop handing them the pen!
Stop it *smacks hand* Stop it!
Stop laying down—yes, FIGHT goddammit!
FIGHT!
This is not the time to be quiet.
… don’t let them silence you.

It is a tactic of abusive people, along with the tactics of gaslighting and DARVO, to find or create or use a single event to wash away all of their previous abuses and give themselves a new blank slate.
An example: the abusive spouse who has beaten their partner so badly that the partner is in the hospital. The abuser visits the hospital bearing a very large bouquet of flowers expecting all to be forgotten/forgiven. The abuse continues and when encountering objections by the victim the abuser says “But I brought you flowers, why can't you forgive.”
Yet when the abuser shows every sign that the abuse will continue - they still need to be stopped. Flowers- single events- don't change that.
We as a country, still need to talk about Jan 6, Project 2025, the Dobbs decision and much more as they indicate that the Republican party shows every sign that it will continue to abuse women, minorities, LGBTQ people and the very ideas of democracy and the rule of law. A single event of violence, while horrible, doesn't mean we cease talking about women's rights, voting rights, democracy or that we cease upholding the laws or applying the laws to Republicans too.
We can talk about the threat Project 2025 is to the constitution and the rule while also promoting the peaceful way we should handle this threat, which is to vote!
More than ever before we must speak out.
That's why I wear this "Reject Project 2025" shirt 👇
