My New Year's Resolution
To love more and never stop fighting the good fight!
First off—HAPPY NEW YEAR! Hope yours was filled with fun but most of all, safe!
Mine was non-alcoholic due to being heavily medicated—but I don't drink as it is, so all good.
My celebration video as well as reflections on the impending election can be found below (share links to your own New Year’s Eve debauchery :-):

Thoughts on the battle ahead in 2024
I ain’t gonna sugarcoat it, ya’ll. We have some really bad, tough times ahead. We will win a few battles—and some we will lose. Let us endeavor not to lament the losses but tread forward with the idea of winning the overall war.
Trump and his ilk will crow every day as if they have already won.
They haven’t.
The SCOTUS will continue to do the bidding of their dark overlords—we will call it out. Some will claim we are being alarmist yet we have seen from recent rulings we are merely being realistic.
Do not let them talk you down or gaslight you—our fears are valid.
What we fight for, democracy, is valid.
But above all—let us resolve to remain in the light of love.
Now, I am not talking about mealy mouth obsequience and complacency—that is not love, it is apathy dressed up in self-loathing. I am talking balls to the wall, fiery, passionate, flat-footed love. The kind that won’t back down even when the going gets tough.
The type that challenges the status quo, even when it is members of our team who may be in error.
Recall Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who endured broken bones and bruises in the name of love—I think he would not be averse to a new kind of fight as we try to keep America aloft. He died for a vision of America that needs to keep going or the world is doomed to fall into decades of darkness.
Do not allow that kind of evil to find us defeated.
See, King knew that love is the cure-all for what ails the body politic, especially when evil seeks to claw its way into power on the wings of phony patriotism and religious piety:
“Darkness cannot put out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
There is more than one way to give love, genuine, inclusive, humanity love. More than one way to fight—but it has to be steeped in a cause that benefits all of us or it is hollow and barren.
No violence. No lies. No hate.
We have to be, must be, the antidote to MAGA vitriol.
Where they sow fear we will comfort—where they try to misinform we will bring knowledge. Where they destroy, we shall build. Where they muddy, we bring clarity.
When they want to divide, we shall unify.
It is the only sword and shield we have. Be fiery and brave but never lose sight we are fighting for all—even the stubborn souls we challenge.
Let’s train on the use of the weapons of light moving forward!
Bring on 2024!

Happy New Year Alicia! Sending love with an open heart. Quoting MLK is perfect. Also thank you for not including fake negative BIden polls. What the heck is with that?
Really good job on your love video!!
