The Reality Check: Racism is an institution. It’s using a sense of superiority to systematically suppress a group.

Sure, anyone of any color can be biased or prejudiced. But it is the ruling majority that has the power to put oppressive laws—like Jim Crow and segregation—into actual motion.

Failing to understand this distinction is exactly how oppression keeps thriving. People love to weaponize a clip like Josh’s as an “Uncle Tom” shield, gleefully typing, “See, this Negro agrees with me!”

Which is just objectively stupid. Do they agree with every White person? Go ask those same folks if they agree with Hillary Clinton just because she’s White.

Assuming Black people are a monolith who need a celebrity to think for them is the textbook definition of majority racism. To quote the legend Stokely Carmichael: “Racism is not a question of attitude; it is a question of power.”

Republicans practically pulled hamstrings rushing to cameras, posing in libraries reading Green Eggs and Ham to kids like they were fighting a frontline cultural war.

Here is the actual reality: The family and estate of Dr. Seuss independently decided to archive a few lesser-known, deep-cut books that contained objectively outdated racist tropes. No leftist group demanded anything. No one came for Sam-I-Am. But it didn’t matter.

According to the actual Associated Press report on the Dr. Seuss estate, it was a private corporate decision about curation, not cancellation.

Yet, this kind of shit gets swallowed whole by idiots on both sides. To this day, I still encounter liberals and progressives who repeat those exact same dumb talking points. I constantly have to correct the record and tell people to literally just Google the facts before they open their mouths.

Who Wants “Special Treatment” Again?

We see this exact same weaponized narrative play out in everyday relationships. When a woman speaks up and asks to be treated well by her man, men love to jump in and claim she’s demanding “pedestallization.”

Are you kidding me?

Meanwhile, some of these same guys practically expect a woman to wash their feet with her tears and her hair every single day, provide sex three times a day, cook, and then neatly disappear into a closet until she’s summoned again.

Let’s ask the real question here: Who actually wants special treatment again?

No woman is asking for a pedestal. Women just want to feel appreciated and cherished—exactly the same way men want to be appreciated and cherished. It is a baseline human desire.

So yeah, I won’t stop speaking because stalkers on the internet are being dicks. The truth of our genuine goals has to be out there. It’s time to end the false narratives and actually try to understand each other for a change. Welles isn’t just telling a story about a “cold-hearted” heffah who went crazy and wound up doing time; he is actively conflating a woman’s education with a descent into madness and violence. The implication is clear and ridiculous: education didn’t enlighten Susie; it corrupted her. It’s a leap that suggests smart, vibrant, educated women are inherently dangerous or “unnatural.”

This isn’t the first hint of sexism I have seen in his music, and I doubt it will be the last.

This isn’t the first time music has been used to keep women “in their place,” but seeing it in 2026 feels like a massive regression. We can look back at controversial tracks throughout the decades that leaned into similar tropes:

• The 60s/70s: The Beatles’ “Run for Your Life” features John Lennon sneering, “I’d rather see you dead, little girl, than to be with another man.” It’s a song about ownership and the threat of violence if a woman dares to exercise autonomy.

• The 90s/00s: We saw a wave of songs that framed women as inherently unstable or vengeful “crazies.” While some were anthems of empowerment, others, like Eminem’s “Kim”, took the “revenge” trope to a literal, homicidal extreme. Even in the pop-rock sphere, songs like Sublime’s “Wrong Way” framed a woman’s life choices through a lens of male “rescue” and judgment.

On and on it can go… and yes, I have said shit about sexism in music before. But no one has been this overt.

Welles’ song fits into this lineage but adds a modern, anti-intellectual twist. It taps into a frightening cultural undercurrent that fears women being “seen” or “smart.” If we follow this logic to its conclusion, we aren’t far off from a world where women are stripped of agency entirely under the guise of “protection” or “tradition.”

What Happened to Folk?

Folk music used to be the voice of the working class. It was about uplifting the home, protecting the vulnerable, and celebrating the power of love and community. It was the music of the labor and civil rights movements.

When folk is used to punch down—to suggest that a woman going to school is the catalyst for her becoming a killer—it loses its soul. I am not defending Susie’s actions in the song; murder is murder. But I will absolutely defend the right of women to have an education without it being framed as a moral failing or a danger to society.

The Bottom Line

They say never meet your heroes because they all have clay feet. It’s disappointing to see a rising star lean into such an unhealthy mindset. Why do certain men hate women being smart? It’s a weird hill to die on, and a dangerous one to sing about.

This isn’t just “internet drama.” It’s a culture that turns violence into entertainment. Just recently, we saw the horror in Shreveport where Shamar Elkins shot his eight children. We are seeing a crisis of male violence that is being fueled by a digital ecosystem of resentment, and yet, the moment we bring it up, we’re told we’re being “melodramatic.”

Women ain’t perfect. I’m perfectly aware that women can be bad, or even evil. But that’s not the point. The point is that women and minorities are being oppressed legally and sexually on a systemic level.

Legislation as a Weapon

Tell the “radicalization” story to the ten-year-old girls now being forced to have their uncles’ babies. Tell it to the Black women who still earn less than their White counterparts, even though they have the most degrees and credentials of any other group.

• The Wage Gap: Black women earn approximately 64 to 68 cents for every dollar earned by white men.

• The Education Paradox: Women must complete one additional degree on average to earn the same wages as a man with less education.

• Systemic Violence: Cases like the “Nth Room” and “Rape Academy” involve networks of hundreds of thousands of men organized specifically to exploit women.

And don’t hit me with your whataboutisms to silence me. Bad stuff happens to us all, of course, but I am a woman, and a Black woman at that, and I am gonna talk about what impacts me personally, if that is okay with you. What cuts my skin hurts my skin.

You are, of course, free to talk about what impacts you as a man, and you know what? I will listen. Because, believe it or not, I hate injustice of all kinds.

Beyond the Petty Competition

I don’t treat human suffering like some kind of competition. We should be fighting for a world that allows all people to thrive because that world benefits us both. That means understanding the very specific challenges of any given group and addressing them on a case-by-case basis.

• Male Suicide: Rates are far too high, with men dying by suicide at 3 to 4 times the rate of women. Prevention should absolutely be aimed at that demographic.

• Reproductive Rights: Women are now legally viewed as broodmares in many states, facing death from preventable diseases due to restricted healthcare.

• Economic Inequality: Despite being a highly educated demographic, Black women face the largest wage penalties across almost every industry.

I get the instinct. When things go wrong, some people look for scapegoats to retain their sense of power. But the answer to male suffering isn’t to put women’s faces in the mud to feel powerful.

We live in a world leading with hate, a world that wants to go back to the days when we were seen as kitchen utensils and not as people. Women weren’t radicalized; we were taught our value. There are men who hate that—because the only way some of them can meet us is to pull us into the mud with them. Some aren’t brave, strong, or solid enough to rise on their own and join us in heaven.

Ever since a session with my teletherapist, I’ve been musing on the “intricate dance” between the Id, the Ego, and the Superego. She mentioned that the misuse of the word “Ego” is the bane of many therapists’ existence.

We tend to weaponize the term, but the Ego is simply the bridge. It only falters or becomes “corrupted” when the psyche loses its equilibrium. It’s a delicate internal ecosystem, and maybe we should spend less time trying to get rid of the ego and more time making sure it isn’t being bullied by our inner extremes:

It’s time we stop using the word Ego as a dirty word. In the framework of the human psyche, the Ego isn’t a flaw—it’s the engine. To understand why, we have to look at the three-part harmony that defines our behavior:

• The Id: Our primal nature. It is the reservoir of instinct, drive, and “I want it now.”

• The Superego: Our moral compass or conscience. It’s the internal judge that strives for perfection and follows societal rules.

• The Ego: The mediator. Sandwiched between the two, the Ego operates on the “reality principle.” It’s the sense of self that negotiates between our wildest desires and our strictest morals.

Balance vs. Fragmentation

When these three are in harmony, you get a balanced being. However, when the system breaks down, the psyche becomes fragmented.

The Real “Ego” Problem

People have been using the term wrong for decades. Having an Ego isn’t wrong—it’s biologically and psychologically necessary for survival. It is simply your sense of self.

The issue isn’t “having an ego”; the issue is an overinflated ego, which is usually just a symptom of a deeper psychic imbalance. When the Ego stops mediating and starts overcompensating, that’s when the trouble starts. We don’t need to get rid of the Ego; we need to get it back in sync. How we do so is the question that restarts the engine.

The Double Standard of Heritage

It is fascinating how society encourages people to celebrate Italian, French, German, or Irish heritage. When someone leans into their Celtic roots, it’s viewed as a beautiful connection to history. However, the moment Black people express pride in their culture, “tone policing” begins.

In the comments of the James Brown dance video, a user named @vnelson000 wrote: “As an African American, it blows my mind its Asian people jamming like this, I want to hang out with them.” It was a simple expression of joy and cultural connection. Yet, the vitriol was immediate. One detractor responded with, “You people are so racist... Believe me they don’t want to hang with you, because not only is the fatigue real, it’s global!!!”

This isn’t just an internet argument; it’s a subconscious effort to prevent Black folks from claiming their contributions. By policing this pride, history is slowly erased, eventually allowing others to claim we contributed nothing at all.

The Erasure of Attribution

When one fails to give attribution to a culture while suppressing the voices of its creators, it isn’t “appreciation”—it’s theft. We see this in everything from fashion to music. I don’t have a problem with someone outside the culture wearing Bantu knots; the hairstyle is beautiful. But don’t get bent out of shape when the Bantu tribe is mentioned.

When Black people point out these roots, the “reverse racism” card is played immediately. People deflect with “All Lives Matter” or “We are all one race.” These are classic straw man arguments designed to silence grievances. It is DARVO (Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender) in real-time. They use these tactics to pretend systemic disparities don’t exist, moving the goalposts from cultural recognition to “identity politics.”

The “Hyphenated American” Myth

White society had no problem labeling races for centuries. It was only when Black folks sought to empower themselves—not just by naming ourselves, but by having the “temerity” to add “American” to the end—that people lost their minds. Suddenly, labeling was “racist.”

We see this same energy in the “colorblind” comments, like the user who praised someone for “not bringing race into it” because “music has no color.” While it sounds well-meaning, it’s reductive. Music may be a universal language, but it has a syntax, a history, and a creator. To enjoy the fruit while demanding the roots remain invisible is a special kind of entitlement.

Reclaiming the Record

No other culture is policed for its pride more than ours. Whether it’s being denied a home loan or being told that “Soul” is an exclusionary term, the gatekeeping is relentless. “Soul” is a descriptor of a specific heritage, not a claim that no one else has a soul.

Ultimately, we have to stop being silenced. We must call out the double standard every time. It all comes back to that comment section: a Black man seeing the global impact of his community’s art and feeling a sense of belonging. That pride isn’t a threat; it’s a correction of the record. We are done being ashamed for speaking up. If a man can’t say “this makes me proud” about the music his people built without being labeled a racist, then we haven’t come nearly as far as we think.

I used to give the benefit of the doubt, but watching the rise of Andrew Tate’ type of influence and the dehumanization of women has changed things. When millions watch violence against women for “entertainment,” it’s time to treat every situation with extreme caution. I’m moving with “show me who you are” energy because the benefit of the doubt has run out. If you aren’t part of the solution, don’t complain when women choose the bear.

We are living through a crisis of terminal entitlement. Modern society has become an assembly line for men who were never taught the basic necessity of sharing a world with others. Instead, we are surrounded by grown adults acting like toddlers—Red Pill and Black Pill disciples who are genuinely furious that the world doesn’t grant them automatic obedience or total control.

Every time the inevitable happens—every time reality refuses to bend and one of these men explodes into violence—the script remains the same. A chorus of voices immediately rises to explain it away, to offer excuses, and to pretend these aren’t the predictable results of a specific pattern. They look at 8-year-olds caught in the crossfire of a man’s ego and refuse to name the rot.

The Normalization of Cruelty

It is exhausting to be told that this is just “manhood.” To see cruelty rebranded as strength and isolation rebranded as enlightenment. People wonder why I feel alienated from this version of the world, but the answer is simple: I refuse to participate in a culture that treats empathy as a weakness and rage as a birthright. We aren’t just failing these men; we are letting them burn the world down because they weren’t told “no” early enough.

The People-Pleasing Trap

Why does this terminology matter? Because these dogmatic ideas keep people trapped in “people-pleasing mode.”

• Fear of Looking Selfish: People stay in toxic dynamics because they believe “unconditional love” means enduring anything.

• Loss of Identity: When you prioritize an impossible ideal of selflessness, you become afraid to advocate for your own needs.

• The Intent Gap: Many people offer “unconditional” love only because they secretly hope to receive that same limitless devotion in return. When they don’t, it leads to resentment, not peace.

Finding the Balance

Unconditional love can exist as a beautiful shared state, but only when it is built on a foundation of mutual love and reciprocity. It is not a one-way street where one person sacrifices their soul while the other takes.

We should absolutely strive to regard others and lead with empathy. However, we must stop romanticizing the idea of loving without boundaries. Real, healthy humanity isn’t about being a martyr; it’s about the balance between caring for the world and honoring the self.

We lost another American hero in Minneapolis.

Alex Pretti was a 34-year-old ICU nurse.

Think about that. This is a man who spent his life at the bedside of the sick and the dying, doing the heavy lifting for humanity. He was shot and killed by a Border Patrol agent during a “federal operation” while simply holding a cell phone.

Gun? What gun. They planted that shit.

Think about it—if he had a gun, why wasn’t Alex brandishing it to protect the woman he came to the aid of?

A man who spent his career saving lives was extinguished by a brutal, unchecked enforcement authority that claims to provide national “security.” It’s a tragic, soul-crushing irony.

And MAGAs’ response?

Scream even more loudly about the violence of so-called illegals as a counter. Yup, nothing says “We are trying to keep borders secure, to protect American citizens” like killing American citizens.

They act as if undocumented immigrants are the only criminals on the planet, using fear as a currency to buy power.

My Mother was killed in 2009

She was hit and killed by an undocumented hit-and-run driver. That is my reality. But I refuse to use her death as a bludgeon to hurt other human beings, because I have the brain to recognize a simple, statistical truth: she could have just as easily been killed by anyone.

Renee Nicole Good, a 50-year-old mother in Georgia, was killed during an ICE operation. The kicker? She wasn’t even the person they were looking for. Agents opened fire on a vehicle she was in, and now a family is left with a soul-crushing absence that will never find a replacement.

And MAGA? Playing the field while Rome burns and sponging up any jizz the White House spills out with biscuits and jam.

The Brother: Keith Porter, Jr.

Keith Porter Jr.’s ICE-related death has been a blip on the screen, and we all know why. He was a Black man in America, and to the hellhounds of federal bureaucracy, the media, and the collective American consciousness, the deaths of Black people ain’t as sexy as the deaths of White people just being above and out here this thing.

And this is not to mitigate what happened to Renee or Alex at all—it is to point out the glaring discrepancy. The All Lives Matter crew gets hellah offended when you point out that Black Lives don’t seem to matter the same.

But they remain awfully quiet when this fact is proven to be demonstrably true.

Keith was shot and killed by an off-duty ICE agent on New Year's Eve as “targeted ICE operations” were beginning, which are turning our streets into war zones. While the media moves on and the agencies file their paperwork, his family is left with the same jagged hole in their lives as the others.

If we only cry out when the victims fit a certain image, we are just as guilty of the soulless calculation as the agents pulling the triggers.

The Problem with the “Hounds”

MAGA cheered when the hounds of war were slipped, thinking they’d only go after “those people.”

But hell hounds have no conscience, and after a while, they cease to obey commands.

Hell, if that were a justifiable defense, every woman in America who gets a side eye from a guy would be able to take him out with impunity.

He gives the victim the gravitas and respect that the system denied her. This is the sound of a man who has been watching the war for a long time and refuses to look away.

This track captures the visceral, atmospheric horror of that moment. It is less about the politics of the courtroom and more about the raw feeling of the street itself—the sudden realization that safety is an illusion. It proves that this tragedy was human enough to break through every filter.

On January 7, 2026, the mask didn’t just slip; it was ripped off. Renee Nicole Good—a 37-year-old mother, poet, and U.S. citizen—was executed in her Honda Pilot on a snowy Minneapolis street. She wasn’t a “domestic terrorist” or a “trained warrior.” She was a mom who had just dropped her six-year-old off at school. She was a neighbor with a whistle, watching armed federal agents invade her community.

What ICE did was unambiguous.

Agents surrounded a confused woman, shouted conflicting orders—”drive away” versus “get out”—and when she attempted to move her vehicle away from them, Agent Jonathan Ross fired three shots into her head. They then refused to let a physician bystander render aid as she bled out.

This wasn’t law enforcement; it was a hit.

The Lie is the Point

If the killing was a tragedy, the reaction from the White House was a declaration of war on truth itself. President Trump looked at a video showing an agent standing firmly on his feet and told the world Renee “violently, willfully, and viciously ran over” him. Kristi Noem branded a suburban mom a “terrorist.” J.D. Vance invented a “left-wing network” to explain away a simple act of witnessing.

This is why the MAGA framing is so uniquely evil. They cannot admit that their uniformed thugs murdered an innocent woman because their entire worldview depends on the idea that they are the victims. To justify their violence, they must transform a poet with stuffed animals in her glovebox into a “professional agitator.”

They have to make you believe that holding a whistle is an act of war, while shooting a mother in the face is “self-defense.”

And the fact that some MAGA cretins are cheering this on solidifies what I have maintained since Trump was first elected: misanthropic malcontents want to make the outside world as dark and turbulent as their inner worlds.

We cannot let them do that.

Pick a Side

We are past the point of political discourse. This is no longer about border policy or “optics.” It is, quite literally, Good versus Evil.

That is the elephant in the room. Yeah. I went there.

For too long, we have tried to be the adults in the room. We have turned the other cheek while they built camps and militarized our streets. But turning the other cheek only works if your opponent has a conscience. When they shoot us and call us the violent ones, passivity is just permission.

We must jam their gears, expose their lies, and stand physically and morally in the gap between our neighbors and their guns.
